![]() ------------------------------------------------ Random Thoughts I wonder what's in store for me tomorrow. Will I find hope or will all this break my heart again? There's only one thing I'm sure of. The Force is with us and Mos Eisley Night Strikes Back will be a success. Other than that... I guess I'll just have to patiently wait. === Hey, Lau, have you seen the movie entitled "Saint Sinner"? I saw it on HBO last night. It was written and produced by Clive Barker. Interesting movie about a monk from the 18th century who travelled to the present in pursuit of two demon sisters that he unwittingly unleashed. I was about to sleep, but then I saw Clive Barker's name and figured it might be worth the 1.5 hours it would take away from my sleeping time. It wasn't blockbuster material but it will do. :) "If saints knew what they were doing, they wouldn't be saints." === All this planning and these meetings and discussions have finally got my brain going in full gear. It actually feels.... exhilirating.... === Hrmmm... got a pleasant surprise this morning when I found an email from a certain person in my inbox today. There wasn't anything significant in the email, in fact, I expected everything in it, but when I saw the name there, it just made me smile. Treading on very dangerous ground now. Gotta stop this and get back to the reality that... well... never mind.... === Strike one! Strike two! .... just one more. Damn, why does it always have to be you? Ah, the Force. Sometimes it can be funny, sometimes it can be wise. But there are times when it can be naughty or scathing and not the least bit nice. Thus, I once again become the butt of the practical joke. Where is that "Force for Dummies" book??? Thursday, November 27, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ MOS EISLEY NIGHT STRIKES BACK! Thanks to Joran for the pic. :) === We met with the marketing staff of Dream TV today to discuss plans for the Ep2 TV Premiere event... meeting went well, thankfully. At the end of the meet, they gave me and Joran some giveaways... stress balls. ... now I know why. I knew it was an omen that I'm going to need to use it soon. Haha. Stress Ball: Herald of Doom. Yikes. Just finished typing up activity proposals for the event... after a whole day of conceptualizing... ... now I think I'd better sleeeeeeeeppp... ... poor stress ball.... ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sunday, November 23, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ Day 2 of the shooting of the trailer of "Star Wars: Checkmate" went very very well. As we suspected, Borgs ain't too much of a diva, unlike some other person we know.... (still love you, Aids. :D ) Pre-Mos Eisley Rally went well too. As well as could be hoped. Actually the whole day has been.... interesting.... hrmmmmm... with interesting new revelations and breakthroughs... even interesting new people.... nakakaaliw...... I'm off to the Clone Wars marathon in a few minutes. Yippeeeee! :) Saturday, November 22, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ Across the Stars Version 3.0 :: Bear On The Beach Welcome to Version 3.0, born out of experiments for new templates for Direk Malfoy. :) When I found the bear, I figured it would go well with the template I was modifying, so..... ... and...... Master u_l_a_n!!! I finally got the archive link list thingy working! (I hope... :D) I just realized though that the sudden change from a black background to a white background will make all the previous hidden spoilers from the archives come out. Heheh. Oh well, I got the new template done in one day, the posts should get fixed another day. :) I just hope obsessive compulsive me doesn't become too obsessive, or Version 3.0 will become version 3.5 by tomorrow. :D Now, if I can just find the resources so I can get rid of the damn ads and stupid pop-ups! Sheesh.... A FRIENDLY REMINDER: Install a pop-up killer today. :)) Thursday, November 20, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ Hello World(wide web)! Being offline most of the time sure isn't doing any wonders for my blogging lifestyle. ;) Anyhoo, we're now at Chapter 8 of "Clone Wars" and Tartakovsky sure doesn't disappoint. Although Chapter 8 may earn him some flack from Matrix fans (Obi-Wan going ala Neo!), it's still a lovely sight to behold dear Master Kenobi fighting Durge. === Tonight was Day 1 of the shooting of "Star Wars: Checkmate", SWP's very own fanfilm. Or at least we shot parts of what will be in the trailer. Aids sure was a diva. Heheh. (Love you, Aids! :D ) === Hrmmm. Looks like a Smith fanatic has been moonlighting here. Hi, GABE (Sana sagutin ka na niya. :)) ! I'm watching "The Two Towers" while writing this. (Yes, u_l_a_n, watching it again today after watching it last night! LOL). And everytime I see Elrond, I swear, I can't keep the words "Mr. Anderson" out of my head. :D Monday, November 10, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ The Revolution and the Wars ![]() Watched "Matrix Revolutions" last Saturday. I'm thankful I decided not to watch it during the Matrix Philippines event or else I really would have slept through it, which would have been terrible. Honestly, I did not know what to expect when I went into the theater to watch the last installment in the Matrix trilogy. But I came out... happy about it. It was a great movie, and if it didn't answer most of my questions from "Reloaded", at least it didn't add more. The final battle between Neo and Smith was... earth-shattering. I was truly impressed. The W Brothers (both Wachowski and Warner) have outdone themselves this time. But in the end... for some reason I have yet been able to find, the euphoria brought about by watching the movie did not last long. It was like leaving the theater was leaving the Matrix behind. Bring on the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. ![]() Is that Vader I see before me? --- A screenshot from Chapter 1 of the Clone Wars cartoon before Anakin whips off his cloak. === "Star Wars: Clone Wars" debuted today at 6:30 pm. I declared a personal Clone Wars holiday and decided I wouldn't go to work. (heheh, don't tell the Emperor) Chapter 1 (Assault on Muunilist, Part 1) basically appraised us of the current situation in the Wars, and introduced most of the characters. We see Master Yoda strategizing with Obi-Wan and Chancellor Palpatine. And we see more of Palpy's obvious favoring of Anakin, praising him, and virtually manipulating the situation so that he gets sent off into battle in command of a unit. We also see Anakin waving goodbye to Padme, surprise surprise, to the tune of the Love Theme From Attack of the Clones. The sound WAS Star Wars, even if it's animated. We see almost all of the Jedi we know from Attack of the Clones. and it was fabulous to see Kit Fisto with an ignited lightsaber underwater! Pretty cool stuff. One of the surprises in the story was Obi-Wan saying that his Master Qui-Gon couldn't have prepared him for the Wars. It somehow ties the character to the movies and grounds it more and makes it familiar. There was a cute almost 1 second cameo of Artoo and Threepio, when Anakin was boarding his starfighter and his cloak gets whipped away, and ends up getting in Threepio's face. :)) I like the way they were able to bring out Lucas-like shots in there like the scene where Padme looks out the window with the droids. It was like the end of The Empire Strikes Back where Luke and Leia and the droids were looking out the big window too. The chapter was too short for me, but it was all I expected it to be. Genndy Tartakovsky's approach is unique, and I'm hoping the next chapters will just get better. I can't wait to see Asajj Ventress! Looks like Hayden is impressing some people with his performance in Shattered Glass. Here's a sample from TVGuide: "If Christensen's wooden turn in STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES was one of that movie's biggest disappointments, his extraordinary performance here comes as a revelation. With his male-model looks hidden behind a pair of geeky glasses and a bad haircut, Christensen is Stephen Glass, and a very good actor indeed." He's gone a long way from his TV days. Last night, we saw him in an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" on Disney entitled "The Tale of Bigfoot Ridge". It was the only time I've seen Aids actually excited about watching Hayden. Heheheh. Wednesday, November 05, 2003 ------------------------------------------------ Oooh. Am back online! It actually feels weird not to have been online for about 2 weeks. The funny thing is, instead of experiencing Internet Withdrawal Syndrome, I actually found the whole not being online thing somewhat... peaceful. :) Or maybe it's just the quiet, easy, simple life I experienced while I've been away. Guimaras is such a lovely place. If I had enough moolah, I'd probably buy a property there! *grin* Will upload my pics soon. My cam was low-batt on the plane, I didn't even have enough power to take a picture of the clouds, the sky, the ground... and the fafa flight attendant who looks like Paolo Montalban! *gasp! faint* Anyhoo, I have tons of documentation to finish for work, so I'd better get back to it. Will miss the Matrix Philippines event tonight. Too sick to go. Ah well.... |
